4-25-17 – Dale Earnhardt Jr has announced he will retire after the 2017 season as being a Dale Jr fan this upsets me to even write about Dale Jr has 26 wins & 149 Top #5 and 603 starts and Laps led 8,195 since 1999. Dale Jr got his fame from his dad Dale Earnhardt Sr. When Earnhardt Jr. retires at the end of the 2017 season, four of the top 30 drivers in career Cup Series wins will have retired over the past three seasons.
- Jeff Gordon (retired in 2015 but did race 8 races for Injured Dale Jr last season)
- Tony Stewart (retired last season)
- Carl Edwards (retired last season)
Good News for Earnhardt fans is Dale Jr, nephew Jeffrey Earnhardt also Dale Earnhardt Sr grandson is racing so we will see another Earnhardt on the track.
