Towards the end of March, the #3 ranked UFC welterweight Demian Maia (+110) opened up with a money line around -175, with the #5 ranked Jorge Masvidal (-130) sporting a dog-tag of around +135. In the last week of April, the cash came flowing in on Masvidal, and his line flipped to the favorite side, causing Maia to get his feet wet in the underdog realm. Although Maia can be found at ‘+’ odds, several betting sites still have Maia at around -105. Masvidal is a favorite across the board.
The betting line for American Top Team’s Dustin Poirier (-125) began its UFC 211 life as an underdog at around +120. The gamblers liked what they saw and had Poirier’s line teetering around pickem’ odds, before solidifying its position as the universal betting favorite over Eddie Alvarez (+105). The former UFC lightweight champion Alvarez opened up with a favorite line of around -160, and although still available at slight favorite odds, his line is now found on most sights at ‘+’ odds.
James Vick vs. Marco Polo Reyes: Lightweight
Both James Vick (-420) and Marco Polo Reyes (+335) have only lost in the 1st round. Half of Vick’s victories happened inside of 1 round, and for Polo Reyes, 8 out of his 12 matches ended inside of 1.5 rounds (Including TUF). Under 1.5 rounds @+110 is worth a look.
